Dart River Jet Safari - 10th March

Your day begins with a coach trip to Glenorchy (about 45kms from Queenstown) which takes you along one of the most scenic highways in the world as it follows the Lake Wakatipu shoreline. Commentary will be provided on the gold mining and Maori history of this area.

On arrival in Glenorchy, you board a jet boat and power up the Dart River. This braided river was carved out by glacier in the last ice age and provides an incredible back drop against the towering mountains. Brilliant scenery and of course some trademark "360 degree turns".

Upon leaving the river take a short and easy walk of 20-40 minutes, through ancient forests, unchanged for 80 million years, learn about the unique flora and fauna of the area. After your forest trek, you will board a 4 wheel drive vehicle that takes you back to Glenorchy via some film sites used in Lord of the Rings and Narnia.

Price: $279 per person
Trip timings: Check in at 8am at the Station Building in the centre of Queenstown. Return to town at approximately 1.40pm
Transport: Your trip includes a complimentary return shuttle bus from central Queenstown
What to bring: Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, warm outer layer, supportive footwear, small bag and camera (carried at own risk)
